What It Means to Be a Queer-Friendly Dog Photographer in Houston
✧ ✧ ✧
Being a photographer who serves LGBTQ couples and families isn’t about aesthetics, trends, or checking off boxes. It’s about creating spaces where people, and their dogs, can exist without explanation or performance.
As a LGBTQ+ friendly dog photographer in Houston, my work is rooted in safety, consent, and trust. Especially when dogs are involved, those values matter deeply.
Queer-Friendly Means No Assumptions
✧ No assumptions about gender, roles, or relationships
✧ Inclusive language from the very first email
✧ Respect for chosen family structures
Your dog doesn’t need to behave a certain way and neither do you. Photos with your dogs are structured around who you truly are – your genuine personalities, quirks, routines, specific things you do or games you play.
The bond you share with your dog shines through in the most endearing ways when you show up, both for them and yourself, just as you are. Not who you think your photographer wants you to be.
Dogs as Co-Regulators
Dogs often help us feel grounded in unfamiliar situations. A dog-focused session honors that bond rather than disrupting it.
Sessions are paced to allow:
☾ nervous systems to settle
☾ space for comfort
☾ real connection to unfold
Without any flowery wording, I’ll put it plainly: Sessions with dogs are just… so much fun.
Our dogs bring out the best in us, and a lot of times, that inner child, too. Which is exactly what I want for my clients at every session. Connection, play, and emotion are at the core of every dog photography session. And dogs are kinda great at bringing those things out of us.
This Work Extends Beyond Houston
I regularly photograph queer households and dog parents in The Woodlands, Spring, Magnolia, and surrounding areas – bringing the same care and intention wherever we meet.

If you’re looking for an LGBTQ+ friendly dog photographer who prioritizes safety and authenticity, I’d be honored to work with you and your dog. (Or dogs – I’m not going to say no to more than one)
