Outdoor Family Sessions
organic storytelling. kiddos dancing to their favorite songs, rolling in the grass, laughter filling the air.
Because the real magic is already happening—right here, right now.
Your family’s story isn’t about perfection. It’s about the belly laughs and messy hair, the morning cuddles and muddy paw prints, the way your kid lights up when they talk about dinosaurs, or how your dog always finds the patch of sun to nap in. These are the moments that matter. And they deserve to be documented.
My sessions are built around presence, not poses. We’ll chase light, follow joy, and make space for whatever shows up—tears, giggles, quiet moments, chaos, and calm. I take a documentary-inspired approach, creating art from the honest, unfiltered beauty of your everyday. You don’t have to “get it right.” You just have to show up as you are.
I celebrate all kinds of families: queer families, blended families, families with neurodivergent kids, multi-generational households, and of course—families with fur-babies too. This is about more than photography. It’s about storytelling with heart, honoring your connection, and creating something lasting that says: we were here, and we loved like this.
What to Expect from Your Family Photoshoot
This isn’t about sitting still or saying cheese. Your family session is a chance to slow down, tune in, and simply be with the people (and pets) you love most. My approach is relaxed, storytelling-focused, and rooted in connection. No stiff poses—just real moments as they unfold, whether that’s toddler giggles in the tall grass, a quiet hug between co-parents, or a muddy dog sprinting toward the camera.
Expect gentle guidance rather than strict direction. We’ll work with the light, the mood, the weather, and your family’s natural rhythm. Whether we’re shooting in your backyard, a local park, or the coziness of your home, I’m here to hold space for authenticity. Together, we’ll create a collection of images that feel like your story—unfiltered, full of love, and beautifully yours.
Families of All Kinds Are Welcome Here
There’s no single way a family should look—and that’s the beauty of it. Maybe your crew includes two dads and a rescue pup, a single parent and a wide-eyed toddler, grandparents in the mix, or a whole joyful, blended bunch. However your family is shaped, your connection deserves to be seen with care, respect, and tenderness.
I approach every session with deep intention, holding space for families who’ve carved out their own definition of home. I work with LGBTQ+ families, chosen families, neurodivergent kids, multicultural households, and anyone whose story might not always be reflected in traditional photo albums. Here, you don’t need to explain or edit who you are. You just get to be—and be celebrated.
✧ FAQ: Family Photography Sessions ✧
𖤓 How do you help kids feel comfortable during a session?
Every child is different, so I take my time to read the room—whether that means letting them lead the adventure, sitting quietly to build trust, or turning the session into a game. I follow their energy, work gently with their emotions, and keep things low-pressure and playful. Sessions are child-led, with plenty of breaks, giggles, and space to just be.
𖤓 Can we bring our dog to the session?
Yes, please! Dogs are part of the family, and I love including them—whether they’re calm companions or lovable chaos machines. There’s no extra charge for pets, no limit on the number of dogs… the more the merrier! I’ll work with their energy, plan for wiggles and distractions, and make sure they’re included in a way that feels natural and fun.
𖤓 Do you offer in-home family photography sessions in Houston?
I sure do! In-home sessions are one of my favorite ways to capture real, meaningful moments—snuggles on the couch, snack time in the kitchen, or playtime in the living room. They’re perfect for families who feel most themselves at home, and especially great for babies, toddlers, or neurodivergent kids who thrive in familiar environments.
𖤓 How far in advance should we book our family photoshoot?
I recommend reaching out at least 4–6 weeks in advance, especially if you're hoping for a weekend date. Fall and spring are especially popular seasons for family photography in Houston, so booking early gives us time to plan something truly meaningful without feeling rushed.
That said, I always do my best to accommodate last-minute openings—so if you're feeling a spontaneous urge to capture this season of your life, don't hesitate to ask. There's never a wrong time to document your family’s story.
𖤓 What happens if the weather is bad for our outdoor session?
Houston weather keeps us on our toes, but I always build in flexibility. If rain, extreme heat, or storms roll in, we’ll either reschedule for the soonest available date or pivot to a cozy in-home session if you're up for it. Your experience matters more than the forecast, and I want you to feel relaxed and taken care of.
I keep an eye on the weather leading up to your shoot, and I’ll always be in touch with options if anything looks uncertain. Whether we’re chasing the sun or dancing in puddles, we’ll make something beautiful.
𖤓 Where do you offer family photography sessions?
I’m based in Spring and serve surrounding areas including Houston, The Woodlands, Conroe, and Magnolia. I’m no stranger to making the drive to Austin or Dallas either. Whether you’re dreaming of an outdoor family photoshoot, a cozy in-home session, or a spot that’s special to your family, I’ll help you choose the perfect setting.
𖤓 Do you offer sessions for LGBTQ+ families and chosen families?
Always. I work with LGBTQ+ parents, chosen families, blended families, adoptive families, and anyone creating love and home in their own way. My sessions are affirming and inclusive, with no assumptions and no pressure—just space to celebrate your connection, exactly as you are.
