What It’s Like to Work With Me as Your Houston Photographer
Being in front of a camera can feel vulnerable. For a lot of people, it comes with questions. What do I do with my hands? What if my dog does not listen? What if my kids are all over the place? What if we have never done this before?
My approach is built around softening all of that.
Working with me is not about performing or getting everything right. It is about creating space for you to show up as you are, and letting the experience unfold in a way that feels natural, supported, and honest.
Before Your Session
Everything begins with connection.
After you reach out, I take time to get to know you. Not just the logistics, but the feeling behind why you want these photos in the first place. Whether you are documenting a season of life, your relationship, or the bond you share with your dog, that context matters.
From there, I guide you through the details in a way that never feels overwhelming. You will receive a questionnaire and support with styling, along with direction that is flexible enough to still feel like you.
When it comes to choosing a location, this is where things start to feel more personal.
While places like The Woodlands Waterway or Pundt Park can be beautiful, I also offer an exclusive location guide to my clients filled with quieter, hidden spots throughout Houston, Spring, and The Woodlands. These are places that hold the same kind of natural beauty without the crowds. Spaces where you can move freely, take your time, and settle into the experience without distraction.
During Your Session
This is where everything shifts.
There is no expectation for you to know what you are doing. You will not be left wondering how to stand or where to look. I guide you through the entire session with movement-based prompts that create connection instead of stiffness.
If you are bringing your dog, they are never expected to be perfect. I work with their energy, not against it. We take breaks when needed, follow their curiosity, and create space for them to feel safe. Some of the most meaningful images come from those unscripted moments.
If you are bringing kids, I meet them where they are.
I lean into play, curiosity, and a little bit of goofiness. Kids respond to that kind of energy in a way that cannot be forced. Instead of asking them to sit still and smile, I invite them to move, laugh, explore, and interact with you. That is where the real moments live.
For couples, especially within the queer community, creating a space that feels safe and affirming is at the core of what I do. You do not have to shrink yourself or fit into a version of what you think a photoshoot should look like. You get to exist fully, and I will meet you there.
After Your Session
Once your session is complete, I move into the editing process with the same intention.
My work leans warm, rich, and full of color. I am drawn to tones that feel alive without being overwhelming. Skin tones stay true, greens feel natural, and the overall gallery reflects the atmosphere of the moment as it was experienced.
More than anything, I edit with storytelling in mind.
Your gallery is not a collection of perfect poses. It is a series of moments that flow together. The quiet ones, the playful ones, the in-between pieces that often go unnoticed until they are placed side by side.
When you receive your images, I want you to feel something familiar. Not just see what the moment looked like, but remember how it felt to be there.
A Space That Holds You As You Are
Every part of this process is designed to feel supportive, flexible, and real.
You do not need to have a perfectly trained dog. Your kids do not need to behave a certain way. You do not need to know how to pose or perform.
You just have to show up.
If that kind of experience feels like what you have been looking for, I would love to create something with you.
